Who is Pure Alternatives?
I have a passion for Organic living. My knowledge has evolved from extensive research and my own personal experience with allergies and sensitivity to personal care and home cleaning products. I am passionate about educating and helping people understand that genuine healthy living results from environmental and social consciousness and consumer choices.
Pure Alternatives' philosophy is based on LOHAS (Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability), a consumer lifestyle segment focused on the connection among health and fitness trends, the environment, personal development, sustainable living, and social awareness towards living a balanced and healthy life.
Heather’s Story
Like many of you, I’ve spent thousands of dollars on health and beauty care products thinking I was buying the best until I learned otherwise. It all began when a friend of mine encouraged me to try products from a direct mail “natural” product company. She was inspired by her desire to free her son of symptoms associated with autism. Interested, I bought some products and noticed the ingredient’s were unrecognizable. 'What are all these chemicals,' I thought? So my journey began.
I began attending health expos and seminars and questioned representatives from well known "natural" product lines. I was intrigued they didn’t have answers to my questions about ingredients -- or even worse -- they had no idea what was really in their products. Frightening. The more research I did, the more I realized that these products weren’t what they claimed to be – just expensive and marketed well.
Curious, I began “detoxing” friend's and family’s cabinets removing dozens of products. Today, friends and clients laugh that I can’t walk into someone’s home without picking up a product and reading the label! My friends began calling and reading me the contents of their favorite shampoo or body lotion. I even had one friend who after learning her son’s “hypoallergenic” skin cream had two of the “Forbidden Five” ingredients, dumped dozens of well-known brand hand soaps and lotions into a grocery bag. Before surrendering the product to me, she asked “but what are my alternatives?” This is where Pure Alternatives can help.
